Google searches surge, but Search revenue growth slows

Google searches grew fastest in five years, per Alphabet's third-quarter 2026 results, October 28. Search revenue growth slowed to 12 percent compared with a year earlier, from 17 percent last quarter. Growth in paid ad clicks, which advertisers pay for, fell from 13 to 8 percent. Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler pointed mainly to shifts in exchange rates.
