Kimi's K3.1 Pro Models Will Not Run With Thinking Turned Off

Kimi's K3.1 Pro models, named k3.1-pro and k3.1-pro-highspeed on Kimi Code, now run only with thinking mode on, meaning the AI reasons before answering. Documentation published 23 October 2026 says so. Requests that switch thinking off are refused. Developers who did that for individual requests must remove the setting, or they will get errors.
