BMW's 2027 iX5 Replaces Door Handles With Sensor-Equipped Fins

BMW's 2027 iX5 has no conventional door handles. A small fin-shaped piece sits atop each front and rear door. Pulling it opens the powered door. Sensors in the piece are meant to stop the door hitting people or nearby cars. Per Engadget's first drive, the doors close automatically when the driver presses the brake pedal.
