Tesla Plans to Sell a Car With No Steering Wheel by Year-End
Tesla said on its October 21, 2026, third-quarter results call that it plans to start selling its Cybercab, a car with no steering wheel, to customers by year-end. Vice president of engineering Lars Moravy said all Cybercabs built so far go to Tesla's self-driving taxi fleet. US regulator NHTSA is auditing Tesla's own safety sign-off, begun September 3 and ongoing.
