Tesla plans to begin selling Cybercabs to customers by end of 2026

Tesla said on its October 21, 2026, third-quarter earnings call that it plans to begin selling the steering-wheel-less Cybercab to customers by year-end. VP of engineering Lars Moravy said all Cybercabs produced so far are destined for Tesla's robotaxi fleet. NHTSA's audit of Tesla's self-certification of FMVSS compliance, opened September 3, is ongoing.
