Canada expected 2026 Palestinian vote, now set for 2027

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas set votes for leader and council, like mayor and councillors, for Sept. 11, 2027. That misses the 2026 country-wide vote the Palestinian Authority promised Canada and other countries for recognising Palestine. Prime Minister Mark Carney tied recognition to a 2026 vote. No vote since 2005-06.
