Prime Minister says Iran likely behind suspected air base plot

Prime Minister Andy Burnham told MPs on 12 October that Iran's Revolutionary Guard, a powerful part of its armed forces, was almost certainly behind the suspected plan targeting RAF Fairford air base. He said Tehran could face tougher sanctions, or punishments. Iran denies it. Police declared a major emergency near the base on 27 September and evacuated dozens of homes.
