Microsoft Says AI Faces Fewer Rules Than Milk

Microsoft vice chair and president Brad Smith said in an ITV interview reported 12 October 2026 that AI, computer programs that answer questions and write text, faces fewer safety rules than a washing machine and less checking than every carton of milk in a grocery store, which gets safety rules and inspection.
