Microsoft vice chair and president Brad Smith said in an ITV interview reported 12 October 2026 that AI, meaning artificial intelligence systems, faces fewer safety rules than a washing machine, and less oversight than every carton of milk in a grocery store, which is subject to safety rules and inspection.
