Labour and National split on artificial intelligence plan

Labour told RNZ it would replace the government's July 2025 plan for artificial intelligence (AI), called 'Investing with Confidence', with a plan for strong, top-level checks like Australia's. National technology spokesperson Penny Simmonds said National would keep the plan, which she said was balanced and fit the risks.
