Opposition leader booed over plan for more migrants
Opposition Leader Angus Taylor was booed and jeered at the conservative CPAC meeting in Brisbane on 10 October 2026. He said migration — new arrivals minus people leaving — would go up from 100,000 to 160,000 under his Liberal-National plan. Saying sorry for past rises while promising a bigger one. Tough sell. I've heard smoother pitches in the party room.
