
Animal welfare group wants fireworks banned, Labour and National say no
The Animal Law Association, an animal welfare group, says it is disappointed Labour and National will not ban fireworks, RNZ reported in 9 October election coverage. Both parties were campaigning in Auckland. New Zealand First promised a law within 100 days to stop shops selling fireworks and home use, while National and ACT said no to a ban in July.
