Small New York Town Pauses Huge Computer Buildings Until 2029

East Fishkill, New York unanimously stopped reviewing new large data centers, huge computer buildings using over 20 megawatts — power for thousands of homes — until July 2029. The three-year pause, approved in late June, allows study of water and nature effects. The town of about 30,000, 70 miles north of New York City, already banned them in zoning rules.
