UN Keeps Darfur Rules for Two More Months

All 15 countries on the UN Security Council agreed in Resolution 2830 on Oct. 9, 2026, to keep Darfur rules until Dec. 11, 2026: no weapons in, no travel and frozen bank accounts for listed people. The two-month extension keeps UN monitors until Jan. 11, 2027, giving time to discuss tougher steps while Sudan's war since April 2023 goes on.
