UN Security Council Extends Darfur Sanctions to 11 December

The 15-member UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2830 on 9 October 2026, extending Darfur arms embargo, travel bans and asset freezes until 11 December 2026. The two-month rollover extends the experts panel to 11 January 2027, buying time for talks on expanding measures amid Sudan's war since April 2023.
