Syria Wants Outside Answers After Ship Sinks, 10 Go Missing

Syria wants an outside, open investigation into why the ship Alfa Watan, registered in Togo, sank early Tuesday in waters Bulgaria controls offshore. Port official Mazen Aloush asked Bulgaria and the International Maritime Organization, the UN shipping agency, to explain stopping the search while ten crew — nine Syrians and one Egyptian — are still missing.
