
Could Durham Wind Turbines Make Planes Hard to See?
The Defence Ministry says 23 planned turbines at Hope Moor in County Durham, up to 200m tall, could hide planes from radar — the system that tracks aircraft — in an RAF area where pilots practise flying low. Because the project is large, the energy secretary decides. It tests flight safety against plans for more land-based wind power.
