U.S. Accuses Venezuela's Former Leader and Wife of Planning Torture

American government lawyers accused Venezuela's former leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores of planning together to torture people. The accusation, shared Oct. 8, adds to earlier claims of illegal drug and weapons activity, which both deny. It expands the U.S. case against them before trial.
