
U.S. accuses Maduro and wife of conspiracy to commit torture
U.S. prosecutors have accused former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores of conspiracy to commit torture. The charges, made public Oct. 8, add to existing drug-trafficking and weapons counts, which both deny. The case widens U.S. claims against the couple ahead of trial.
