Tougher housing help rules put people fleeing violence at risk

Women's Refuge says tougher rules for emergency housing, short-term housing help, started in August 2024, are putting victims of violence at home at risk. In research out 7 October 2026 from 338 people asked, it said people must show they need help and look for other homes, which is hard with no papers, money or internet, it said.
