Tighter emergency housing rules put family violence victims at risk, Refuge says

Women's Refuge says stricter emergency housing rules, brought in August 2024, are putting family violence victims at risk. Research released 7 October 2026, based on 338 people surveyed, found rules requiring applicants to prove need and look for other housing are hard to meet without documents, money or internet access, the organisation said.
