
Google to Buy Nuclear Power for 20 Years to Run Its Data Centers
Google agreed to buy nuclear electricity for 20 years from Constellation Energy, announced Oct. 6, 2026. The money funds upgrades at 11 reactors at six sites in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The upgrades should add 890 megawatts over five years to the shared regional grid that feeds Google data centers. Constellation will invest over $4.3 billion.
