EU Suggests 15-Year Trial for New Members

Any country joining the EU would face a 15-year trial period, like probation at a new job. The idea comes from Marta Kos, the EU official for new members. She explained it to the Guardian and other European papers on 6 October 2026. Current EU countries would still have to approve it.
