Mexico and U.S. disagree over reported border shooting

Mexico says its National Guard, Army and Navy found no sign of gunfire from Tamaulipas, a state on its side of the border, at U.S. Coast Guard crews in late September. President Claudia Sheinbaum said Oct. 5 Mexico asked Washington for proof of Ambassador Ronald Johnson's claim. The U.S. sent about 500 troops to the border after the reported shooting.
