US borrowing cost hits 4.74% as investors expect more rate rises

The interest rate on a two-year loan to the US government rose 0.07 point to 4.74% after the Fed's September rate rise, Standard Chartered reported 17 September. Investors expect three more small 0.25-point rises by June 2027. I'm doubtful that holds; if expectations fade, savers gain little and borrowers feel pain first.
