The US 2-year yield — the return on a two-year loan to Washington — rose 7 basis points (0.07 point) to 4.74% after the Fed's September hike, Standard Chartered reported 17 September. Markets priced three more quarter-point rises by June 2027. I doubt that pricing holds; if it fades, savers see little benefit and borrowers feel the squeeze first.
