Euro falls to lowest in 17 months

The euro dropped to its lowest in 17 months on October 5, 2026, on worry about France's debts, Reuters reported. Bets on French government debt prices, basically IOUs, fell 0.23%, while bets on Germany's rose 0.1%. A weaker euro makes imports cost more for households using the euro. I see trouble in bonds spreading to the currency.
