The dollar got stronger — near a 5-week high

The dollar's scorecard against other big currencies rose 0.3% to 99.961 on Sept. 16, Reuters reported, its highest in nearly five weeks. A strong dollar can make imports cost more and strain borrowers using other currencies. In my view, this is investors guessing on U.S. rates, not a lasting trend.
