Safety Leader David Robinson Leaves OpenAI

David Robinson, the leader overseeing safety at OpenAI who wrote the safety reports published with each major new version of its AI, resigned in the week ending Oct. 3, 2026. He described his departure in an Oct. 3 article in The Atlantic. An OpenAI spokesperson confirmed the exit to Business Insider.
