Tennessee Woman Lives Through Execution Drugs

Christa Pike, 50, lived through two deadly-drug doses during her Sept. 30 state killing in Nashville, Tennessee. The Death Penalty Information Center, which tracks executions, said she is the first to survive injection. Found guilty of the 1995 murder of Colleen Slemmer, Pike said she felt burning, passed out but kept breathing and is in hospital in very serious condition.
