California Governor Says No to Ban on Secret Recordings in Private Rooms

California Gov. Gavin Newsom rejected a proposed law, SB-1130, that would have punished secretly filming people with wearable cameras, like smart glasses, in private business spaces such as changing rooms and doctors' offices. Anyone caught could have faced fines up to $1,500 or time in prison.
