California Governor Rejects Ban on Hidden Recording in Private Business Spaces

California Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed SB-1130, a state Senate bill that would have made it a crime to secretly record people using wearable devices, such as smart glasses, in private areas of businesses, including changing rooms and doctors' offices. The proposal carried penalties of up to $1,500 in fines and possible jail time.
