Why 26 Countries Can't Get Cheap Copies of a Twice-Yearly HIV Shot

At least 26 middle-income nations including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Peru cannot get cheap copycat versions of lenacapavir, a twice-a-year shot that prevents HIV, under Gilead's deal, MSF says. Those nations had nearly 23% of the world's new HIV cases in 2023, MSF says. Gilead has announced a PAHO path for 14 Latin American and Caribbean nations.
