Six Jailed After 31 Die in Small-Boat Crossing to Britain

A court in Paris found six smugglers guilty of causing death by carelessness in the 24 November 2021 sinking that killed 31 migrants crossing from France to Britain in a small boat. After a four-week trial, they were jailed six to 10 years. Seven others got up to four years; one was found not guilty. It was the deadliest crossing.
