Six Convicted in Paris Over 2021 Channel Sinking That Killed 31

Six smugglers were convicted in Paris of involuntary homicide — causing death through negligence, not intent — for the 24 November 2021 sinking that killed 31 migrants. After a four-week trial, they received six to 10 years. Seven others got up to four years; one was acquitted. It remains the deadliest small-boat crossing between France and Britain.
