Driver shot in Austin now accused of hurting an officer

On 29 September government lawyers charged Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez, 28, with hurting an officer nine days after an immigration agent shot him in Austin. They say the Venezuelan driver hit an officer's chest with his side mirror while driving off. He was in national court in Austin that day and faces up to 20 years in prison if guilty.
