Philippine Drivers Strike for Two Days Over Fuel Cost

Thousands of drivers of small public vehicles across the Philippines stopped work Sept. 29 in a two-day strike by Piston, a drivers' group. Organizers say at least 70,000 drivers and operators will join, wanting fuel cut to 55 pesos per litre. Police sent 8,643 officers as transport officials offered free rides.
