Florida Wants Outside Safety Checks Before OpenAI Builds New AI

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, the state's top lawyer, has asked a court to stop OpenAI from building new AI systems without passing safety checks by an outside reviewer. Reported Sept. 28, the request builds on Florida's June child-safety lawsuit against OpenAI and would require outside approval for new development.
