Apple Told to Pay $5.7 Billion Over iPhone Vibrations

A federal jury in San Diego ruled that Apple's vibration system in iPhones and Apple Watches, called Taptic Engine, used three protected ideas from Taction's U.S. patents 10,659,885 and 10,820,117 for low, bass-like shakes you can feel, and ordered Apple to pay over $5.7 billion. The jury said the violation was not intentional.
