Pakistan Closes Capital Before Protest for Ex-Leader

Pakistan closed capital Islamabad before a 26-27 September 2026 protest by PTI, the opposition party of former leader Imran Khan. Tens of thousands of police and over 1,000 shipping boxes blocked highways. Arrest orders were issued to keep supporters out. PTI says it wants Khan freed from jail since 2023 on corruption charges.
