Pakistan seals Islamabad ahead of PTI march for Imran Khan's release

Pakistan deployed tens of thousands of police and more than 1,000 shipping containers to block Islamabad ahead of a PTI march planned for 26-27 September 2026. The party says the demonstration demands release of former prime minister Imran Khan, jailed since 2023 on corruption charges. Authorities barricaded highways and issued arrest warrants to stop supporters entering the capital.
