Thomas Kaplan revealed as £6.75 million buyer of Rembrandt's St John on Patmos

Thomas Kaplan, New York-based owner of the Leiden Collection, bought Rembrandt's St John on Patmos for £6.75 million (US$9 million) at Sotheby's in London, The Art Newspaper reported 28 September 2026. The price sat inside the £5 million-£7 million estimate published by Sotheby's. It is the collection's 18th Rembrandt painting in two decades.
