France Wants EU Shopping Rule to Leave Out Britain

France asked EU ministers in Brussels on 24 September to make 'Made in Europe' cover only the 27 EU countries, not Britain. Minister Sébastien Martin said European taxpayers' money should support European workers and factories. The planned shop-local-type rule would favor European products to push back against Chinese goods backed by Chinese government money and is still under discussion.
