New switch lets full home power boxes add car chargers

Noble Carbon, a new company in Pittsfield, has made smart power switches that turn an electric car charger up or down second by second, like sharing water pressure, so a full home power box needs no main-box replacement. They plug into current slots in under five minutes, the company says. The product is being evaluated for UL safety testing.
