EU Wants Big Computer Centers to Share Energy and Water Use

The European Commission has proposed that EU data centers over 500 kW, buildings packed with computers, must publish electricity and water use under one shared rating, like nutrition labels on food. If Parliament and Council approve after a two-month review, labels start in 2027. The Commission says centers must be highly efficient and work with power grids to limit strain.
