Victoria to Keep Big Computer Centres Away From Homes and Schools

Victoria will ban new datacentres — big buildings full of computers that store online data — from housing areas and near schools and childcare, at least 150 metres from homes. Premier Ben Carroll will release the sustainable datacentre action plan on 22 September after cabinet approval. It also bans them in country areas that cannot support them.
