Victoria to ban new datacentres in residential areas, near schools

Victoria will ban new datacentres in residential zones and near schools and childcare centres, with a 150-metre buffer from homes. Premier Ben Carroll will release the sustainable datacentre action plan on 22 September after cabinet approval. The plan also bans facilities in rural areas unable to support them.
