Trump says Canada teaming up with the EU is 'laughable'

Donald Trump called “laughable” the suggestion Canada become the European Union’s first special partner, not a full member. The idea came from Ursula von der Leyen, head of the EU’s executive, on Sept. 16. Prime Minister Mark Carney praised the goal in a Sept. 17 speech to the European Parliament, the EU’s lawmakers, saying details are still unclear.
