Apple's Schiller Left App Store Role Over Plan to Increase Profits

Phil Schiller stepped down as head of Apple's App Store rather than carry out CEO John Ternus and services chief Eddy Cue's plan to increase profits and steady income, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported September 6. Schiller believed pushing harder on profitability would worsen fights with governments and app makers. The App Store now sits under Cue's division. Schiller remains an Apple Fellow.
