Bill still would make DOC open up protected land for business

A bill changing rules for conservation land still includes a clause forcing the Department of Conservation to enable business activity on protected land as much as possible. Conservation Minister Tama Potaka removed a plan to sell off conservation land but kept this clause. Greenpeace's Gen Toop warned it could lead to more open-cast mines on public conservation land. A final report is due in November.
